In order to boost the number of new games coming to the 3DS, Nintendo plans to work with Japanese third parties to bring their games to the North American and European markets. "Among those third-party titles both developed and published in Japan, there have been some games which Nintendo published in Europe, including the Professor Layton series," president Satoru Iwata explained in a presentation today. "We will increase the number of such games for the U.S. market as well as in Europe. We are also willing to flexibly assist third-party developers in distributing their valuable games overseas." In other words, Nintendo will outright publish more games from other companies, and assist in the distribution of others.
It's a simple plan, one that could result in the localization of games that third party publishers would find too expensive to localize and market on their own. Ideally, this would involve games like Bravely Default and Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney; Nintendo's generally reliable curation means we're still safe from humiliating cheesecake ninja game Senran Kagura.

The Nintendo boss "felt he was on a mission"
[h=3]Nintendo[/h]nintendo-europe.com
In one of his regular interview features, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has revealed he made it his personal mission to bring popular Nintendo DS title Dr Kawashima's Brain Training to Europe.
"After it became a big thing in Japan, we decided to take Brain Training overseas," he said in an interviewwith Dr Kawashima himself.
"Around the autumn of 2005 I got the feeling that something incredible was happening in Japan. That's when I thought, 'We've got to sell this all over the world!' I felt I was on a mission, and I actually took the software to our sales representatives in America and Europe in person, in order to explain it and build a market for it!"
Interestingly Dr Kawashima also revealed that he was initially sceptical that the title would find an audience overseas
"To be honest I had my doubts about taking Brain Training overseas," he told Iwata.
"I had the feeling that things like diligently chipping away at calculation drills, for example, were more suited to the Japanese temperament."
Ulktimately though, the game found huge success with a wide audience in the UK and Europe, and broke records with 80 weeks in the UK charts in 2008. By March 2011 had sold almost 19 million copies worldwide and Iwata pointed out Europe was a key part of that success.
"In the end it became something of a social phenomenon, with sales in Europe actually surpassing Japanese sales. I think the software played a role in introducing your research to the world, Dr Kawashima"

The next game in the Brain Training series will hit UK shelves on April 12th.
The snappily titled Dr. Kawashima's Devilish Brain Training: Can You Stay Focused? is a 3DS exclusive, and will be available to buy from retail and the Nintendo eShop on the same day.
The Brain Training franchise began life back in 2006 around the launch of DS Lite, and was amongst the software that propelled the console into becoming the UK's top selling machine. In total, the series has sold over 15m units around Europe. Devilish Brain Training is officially the third game in the franchise.
As the name suggests, the Devilish Brain Training features a number of 'challenging exercises' which will apparently improve your concentration skills and working memory. Once again the title has been developed in collaboration with Dr. Kawashima himself.

The world gets its first look at the new Wii U and 3DS Super Smash Bros. games at this year's E3. In this week's Direct broadcast, Nintendo announced series designer Masahiro Sakurai is to debut screens of the new entries at the LA expo in June. Sakurai then clarified the news on Twitter, hinting there'll be more of the inter-icon fracases than just screens.
Sakurai tweeted he'd like to show both the Wii U and 3DS versions, and that, while "other games" have had visuals shown, he'd like to "release something better." It would be a bit surprising to only see screens, given Melee and Brawlboth were first showcased with trailers at E3 expos.
Nintendo also announced new Wii U Mario Kart and 3D Mario games are in development, and are to also be shown off at E3 2013. In their case there'll also be playable demos at the expo, but at this stage that seems a pipe dream for the new SSB games.

The Ace3DS Team have posted news and a video that says they have a flash cart fully working on the 3DS which plays all DS Games and Homebrew and One Genuine 3DS Game, sounds curious, from what i can gather its not a full hack of the 3DS but maybe a sneaky way of keeping DS Compatability on the 3DS via a genuine game. First off they play a DS Game then a 3DS Game via a little switch.
Heres the video, make your own mind up.
