Maximum Family Games has announced it will publish Myst 3D on the 3DS in 2012. Developed by Hoplite Research, Myst 3D promises to take the ancient PC point-and-click adventure into the third dimension and bring along the Rime Age, which was not included in the original PC release.
Hoplite was also behind the DS and PSP ports of Myst, so it seems likely thatMyst 3D is simply a port of the original Myst with added 3D effects – as opposed to a fully explorable, polygonal title akin to Real Myst.
Myst 3D is scheduled to be released on March 27, 2012.
